Research Foundation Discovery Workshop

Publish date:

On 6 October 2017, the Centre for Work, Health and Safety convened a forum of leading researchers in work health and safety, as well as leaders in business and government, to discuss the work health and safety research setting.

These leaders discussed and workshopped several relevant WHS issues in todays’ current NSW workplaces. A main topic of discussion was based on the need for Research Outcomes across sectors: how well it is being addressed, gaps in research, effectiveness of transfer and processes of research to practice.

The Centre’s Research Foundation will be established from this group of leaders at the Discovery Workshop forming an advisory committee, ensuring alignment with appropriate goals, collaboration with workplace and industry, and to guide the research being conducted.

The Centre reaffirmed Minister Kean’s commitment to investment in research, practical outputs and the use of evidence to influence policy as per the priorities outlined in the Work Health and Safety Roadmap for NSW 2022.
