Improving workplace wellbeing with AI

Project status: Active

Can a digital intervention help teams manage well-being privately and effectively?

Workplace stress and burnout has become an increasingly critical issue facing Australian workplaces. Recent research by ELMO found that nearly half of Australian employees suffer from burnout, and that 32% feel overwhelmed by the amount of work they need to carry out.

While several tools aim to tackle this issue, there is a gap in the market for an evidence-based solution that supports the needs of both employees and employers.

Investigating the effectiveness of a well-being management system

The Centre for Work Health and Safety has partnered with public company Pioneera to research the effectiveness of their digital workplace well-being intervention, Indie. The platform uses over 6 million points of data to help identify and support employees who are at risk of or are already experiencing stress and burnout.

"Pioneera leverages 6 million data points to detect stress and burnout and enhance workplace well-being."

Our research will support Pioneera’s team to establish a stronger evidence-base for using real-time, personalised nudges through Indie, to reduce workplace mental harm and strengthen workplace well-being.

The project will focus on analysing the feasibility, validity, and reliability of Indie in detecting and responding to indicators of stress and burnout in employees, as well as enhancing general well-being and productivity.

Watch this space for our findings once the project is completed.
